In 1922 paperwork was prepared to complete the sale of the Yardley Bridge to the Joint Commision for Elimination of Toll Bridges N.J. & Pa... There was no recorded title and therefore, ownership of various pieces of land involved had to be established. The following Sworn Affidavits Dated Feb 3, 1923 provide interesting information about the history of the bridge. The Elisha G. Scattergood Affidavit provided a valuable clue in our search for the "Ferry House."
