Bound Brook Railroad - Branch of North Pennsylvania Railroad
The "Bound Brook Route" as it was called, opened for service on May 1st, 1876 in time to serve the Centennial Exhibit which opened 9 days later. Passengers connected from the New Jersey Central. The bridge shown in Craven's photo was known as the Yardleyville Centennial Bridge. It was replaced by a new bridge built alongside about 1912. The stone piers of the 1875 bridge are still standing and look solid in 2002.
