Yardley, Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Linford R. Craven's photographs (real photo postcards) from the early 1900s in Yardley, were first presented as a slide show to the Washington Crossing Card Collectors Club in May 1995, and then to the Yardley Historical Society for the 1995 Yardley Centennial. For the original slide show, we divided the village into three main areas:

"Real photo postcards are significantly different from printed postcards. They are true photographs produced from a negative chemically on photographic paper with postcard backs. The photo card manufacturing process was more direct than the procedure of printed view cards. Typically, photographers developed the film themselves and then printed the photos from the negative onto photographic paper" [Ref: "Real Photo Postcard Guide" Bogdan and Weseloh, 2006]
