Following is the first paragraph of the feature article starting on page 22:
"Check through early issues of Railroad Model Craftsman Magazine and you'll find a number of locomotive construction articles and other features by Edwin P. Alexander, one of model railroading's true pioneers. Those same issues contained ads for the American Model Locomotive Company, then located New Rochelle, N.Y.; and operated by the same Ed Alexander."
The image on the cover shows a Live Steam Locomotive with the steam up, operated by a local teenager, with a group of local youngsters as passengers. The locomotive is precisely scaled so that 1 1/2 inch on the model equals 1 foot on the actual full size locamotive, said to be a Penn Eastern No 10. The track gauge is 7 1/2 inches between the rails. There were 1400' of track located on the flat ground, formerly the right-of-way of the Yardley - New Hope Trolley. The same magazine contains an ad offering a New 1964 Catalog listing kits for "Live Steam Locomotives." [Ref: Railroad Model Craftsman Magazine, November 1964].
