Delaware River Bridge Construction - Philadelphia & Reading Railroad (1911-1914)

New reinforced concrete bridge at Yardley Pennsylvania replaces the original 1875 wrought-iron truss bridge (Yardleyville Centennial Bridge), still in use when this photo was made. The bridge was completed in 1913 and the old bridge removed. But we have a postcard indicating Signal Bridges were still being installed on January 19, 1914.

Shown at the Mercer Museum, Bucks County Historical Society postcard exhibit titled "Greetings from Bucks County," April 13, 2002. Due to the extreme height it's likely a construction worker was asked to take the picture, and this may account for the fact that the horizon is not level.
