1893 SUBDIVISION PLAN - Jolly Longshore Estate
Plan Prepared by J.P. Hutchinson, Civil Engineer
During the years 1972 and 1973, I was retained as a Consulting Engineer by the engineering arm of Vincent G. Kling & Partners, Philadelphia. The assignment was to work on the 1400-acre Xerox Educational Center, in Leesburg, Virginia. The person who contracted with me and to whom I reported was Mr. B. Lee Hutchinson, President, Kling-Leopold, Inc., Consulting Engineers. One time Lee Hutchinson casually mentioned he was going to be out in my territory that day, visiting relatives in Newtown, Bucks County where his grandfather had been an engineer. For many years afterward I corresponded with Lee at his address out in California. Regretfully, it never occurred to me to seek further information about his grandfather. It was only many years later that I added the Longshore Map to my collection...
